Favorite Books

Becca loves reading. We read several books a day, and she sometimes helps turn the pages (and sometimes just practices opening and closing the books). One of her special favorites is "On the Day You Were Born."  The sharp, bright images have her glued to it every time, and I like the words.  I can now read the last page without crying, too, which helps.  It is an especially cherished gift from Rich's best friend, Brian, and his family, and we're so glad they chose it.  Thanks, guys!

Another one of Becca's favorite books is "Squishy Turtle and Friends," which she often devours.  Although not as science-based as the first one on her list, it's benefit is that it can be manhandled.  My mom bought it for her during her last visit, along with another favorite,

"The Wizard of Oz," a pop-up book.

She actually just injured a tree in Munchkin Land just before falling asleep in my lap a few minutes ago (she's got my thumb gripped tightly).  The tree can be fixed, but I guess I'll have to start holding the book a little further back.  When searching for the picture cover, I bumped into a YouTube video of someone turning the main pages of the book, if you're interested.  Her eyes always get big when you open the pages of her pop-up books.  Even the "Dinosaur Danger" book.
