Since it was a week after her due date (and two days before Thanksgiving) and we still had no signs of Rebecca wanting out, my doctor decided we should induce my labor. First, we had to call the hospital at 7 am and see if they were ready. They weren't. The nurse said I should go back to sleep and she'd call when they had an opening. She called around 9:30, just as Rich and I were falling asleep, and seemed annoyed that I wasn't going to get there until 10:00 (we live 20 minutes away, sorry).
Although I was told it would take about 24 hours when they started the Cervidil at 1:30, I went from nothing to 5 cm at 5 pm to epidural (21 hours to go?) to 10 cm by 6 pm. Then an hour of down labor (sitting), then pushing, then Becca made her appearance at 9:33 that night.
and her official weight.
And, although we didn't get too many hospital pictures, Rich did catch a few, including this one with his Aunt Colleen,
this one with his Nanny,
and Cousin Kaitlyn, Becca, and Dad (I'm there, too).
