I've been going through the blog in an attempt to get Rebecca's 4th year book ready to go, and have noticed that in her first year I did a lot more writing, and this year it's all about the photos. So here are a couple of notes I think I need to get in before I forget all the good stuff about about my 3 1/2-year-old.
--She uses the word "random" all the time. On our walk Sunday morning we saw a "random mom dear" near the school, for example. She knew it was a mom b/c it didn't have antlers, just some "random big ears."
--She's getting better and better at puzzles, and doesn't get frustrated quickly. She does get frustrated VERY quickly with reading, though.
--She loves to rhyme things.
--She knows more words to more songs than her dad does.
--I love her.
--Her dad loves her, too.
--She hugs EVERYONE. Seriously. If you're waiting in line to use the bathroom when she's done, prepare to be hugged. If you plan on seating us at a restaurant, prepare to be hugged. If you shop at ACME when we do, you know. I have to start padding extra hug time into our errands.
--She's still a danger to animals. Poor C.C. (Crabby Crabs)
--She loves to count to 30. She can go beyond that, but acts like it's a chore to do so.
--She listens to everything, and repeats it. We really have to watch what we say these days.
--Last night she may have solved the mystery of why Rich's bikes were stolen and destroyed when he was little--something he hadn't put together after thirty years.
--She folded a big towel for me today.
--When asked her name, she still gives her full name, and spells her first, just to be clear.
--We had a fifteen minute conversation about zombies yesterday. Not my idea.
--She loves to use her scissors.
--She draws balloons on everything.
--She's been waking up at 4 am every day for weeks now. Not my favorite thing, but true.
--Her Chinese pronunciation of both "hello" and "thank you" are apparently spot-on, according to the waitress at our local Chinese restaurant.
--She insisted on giving my parents both a Happy Anniversary and a Thank You card this week.
--She LOVES Alvin and the Chipmunks. (I don't.)
--She invites herself into people's houses. We've been in both neighbors houses this afternoon.
--She likes to be scared.
--She knows my phone number, most of her address (she leaves out the town sometimes), and tons of random facts. Now I'm saying random all the time, too.
--She caught me scratching my bug bites the other day. "Don't scratch them. It just makes them worse. Don't you remember your rules?" Nice.
