Don't Try This At Home

I'm forever seeing these posts where people include amazing pictures of mouth-watering desserts they've developed along with the corresponding recipes.  This isn't one of those.

Let me backtrack just a little.  Sometimes Rebecca wakes up at 2 am, sometimes at 4.  Sometimes both; sometimes neither.  But it happens often enough that I always wake up and 2 and at 4 these days.  Like I'm expecting something.

At 2 in the morning a lot of things seem like good ideas, excellent even.  Things a person on a full night's sleep wouldn't find appealing at all.

And so I wasted half of Becca's morning nap yesterday making (and half today blogging about) these:

They were *supposed* to be red and blue swirled Rice Krispie treats, but they turned out the colors of our 1968 master bath, peach and teal.  This is how it looked when we toured the house:

Well at least they taste okay.

And in fairness, the plain ones I made last week with a chocolate swirl looked good, so I thought they had a chance.  Next year I'll go with the star cookie cutter and sprinkles.
